"Crop failure!" 📣

Hi Reader🙋🏼‍♀️

Yesterday, I hit my limit. I woke up and thought, nope, I just can’t do it today. My body was tired, my head thumping, and everything in me said: rest.

So I listened.

I spent the day on the lounge with my wheat bags, a good supply of Hydralite and paracetamol, and alone time bingeing Queer Eye on Netflix (no regrets!).

In one episode, one of the Fab 5 shared a story from his childhood. A woman in his life used to tell him, “Your thoughts are like seeds. Your words are like the weather.” Whenever he said something negative, she’d cheerfully call out:

“Crop failure!”📣

It stopped him in his tracks—reminding him that he had a choice. That his inner voice could either grow something beautiful, or ruin the whole garden.

That little moment made me smile. Because choosing rest yesterday—choosing kindness over pressure—was me protecting my inner crop.

It also reminded me of how much my inner narrative has changed in the last 20 years since I started my own healing adventure.

I have a beautiful garden, and I'm proud of how far I've come🌱

So I’m passing the message on to you today:

🌾Catch those harsh thoughts.
🌦 Choose better weather.
🌱Protect what you’re growing.

Please don't mistake these tips for toxic positivity, we need to process our emotions (that's another email for another day).

But..

What's your everyday narrative? It's time to pay attention to your garden.

The language in your mind and your mouth is directly connected to your self love, or lack of it. Your connection to self determines your success in love, work, wealth, and happiness.

Give it some thought..

And when you notice your inner critic flaring up, feel free to say it out loud with me:
“Crop failure!” 🙌

Just a little personal update, Reader, I'm writing to you from WA. Well, it's actually Saturday, I have 30 minutes before I catch a plane, and I'm still drying clothes under the heater that need to be packed! When you receive this I'll be on an epic, soul-filling, road trip pilgrimage with my bestie, north of Perth in WA. This is an emotional, energetic, and physical reset for me, because I've let a few things slip. I've been busy, and I've exploited my relationship between my body and food....

*Trigger warning - accident and blood themes* Hey Reader, Last weekend, I headed off on a little drive, an hour away, to visit my beautiful dad. He's 93 now, and time with him is precious. My eldest son decided to come along too. He decided to ride his motorbike, so we set off together, me in the car, him cruising in front. I wasn’t prepared for what happened next. As I followed him along the highway, a wave of panic rose in my belly and throat. My brain went straight to PTSD catastrophe...

Hey Reader, A few years ago, I bought a sporty little European race car. This particular model is actually used as a rally car internationally. It's a hot hatch! (A term also used internationally.) Turbo engine. Six-speed manual. Low-slung leather interior. Red dash lights. Sporty wheels. The kind of car that makes you feel just a little bit cooler than you probably are! When hubby and I took it for a test drive, he jumped in the driver’s seat first and took it up the highway. He opened it up...
