Let’s call it for what it is, Reader. I want to demystify the word healing. It’s become a bit of a buzz word… I even use it myself - all the time - it's even in my Instagram handle! Somewhere along the way, it’s either been overcomplicated, oversimplified, or given the impression that you need to sit on the side of a hill, high in the mountains, chanting om to the higher power! (But since you're here, use the GIF below to take a few deep breaths😉) But healing isn’t “woo woo”. It isn’t reserved for a certain type of person. And it’s not something that's out there. Personally, my healing work has saved my life. Literally. You know my cancer story, and how I live well. And I see the same for so many others, in all sorts of ways. It’s not something to underestimate. Because healing, in its simplest form, is this: 🙏🏻 noticing your patterns It’s not about becoming someone new. It’s about meeting yourself where you're at… sometimes for the first time. And when that happens, things begin to shift. Not all at once. Not perfectly. But steadily, and in a way that actually lasts. It's about self compassion and acceptance - while ditching the guilt and self criticism. How do you know you need to heal? Check out my insta post for some insight 👩🏻💻 If any part of this sparks a teeny bit of curiosity within you, maybe it's worth considering a new adventure into you. If a space to explore this more gently with guidance and support will help you (it will help you), I hold that inside my private community for women, The Healing Circle, and you are very welcome there. Right now, I'm offering a 20% discount for the first time.. for your first 3 months!! Use the code WELCOME20 on this sign up link. (And if there are any techy glitches - cause I'm not a tech queen - please let me know.) We meet twice a month on Zoom, and I have to say, it's a pretty special place filled with women who are real, and raw, and supportive of each other. It fills my soul. I'd love you to join us. The discount is available until our next call on the 15th. So, what’s another word we could use for ‘healing’? What do you think, Reader? Do you have other suggestions we can consider? Ali x |
Sharing uncomplicated truths to encourage and educate women to embrace their healing power.
A couple of years ago, my work wife and I acquired a new speaker for the office. We had Buddha Radio playing on rotation. Nice cruisy music. Relaxed vibes. And every few songs, a little whisper would come through the speaker… “…Buddhaaaa…” This went on for months. Then one day, a colleague was standing at the counter when the whisper came through. He turned to us. “Does that happen all day?” “Does what happen?” we said. “The whispering.” We laughed. “Yeah! It goes all day.” Except… he wasn’t...
I've got something quick and easy for you today, Reader 💖 Can you actually measure happiness? It's a bit of a loaded question, isn't it? Happiness can feel so subjective. One day you’re doing okay, the next you’re overwhelmed, and sometimes you don’t even realise how much has shifted until you stop and look back. But what if you actually had a way to see the change? To have a way that doesn't rely on a therapist, or a GP, or any friends to validate your progress. In my book, The Glorious...
Last Saturday night, hubby and I were heading out with some friends to see Don’t Change, an Australian INXS tribute band. Of course, we had INXS pumping in the car on the way there 🎶🎷 Then Devil Inside came on. And just like that, I was 17 again. I started telling hubby and our friends a story I hadn’t thought about in years… I’d just finished school. I had my licence, access to Mum’s car, and very few responsibilities. Mum had been gone for about nine months by then, and for the first time...
